Head of Sales and Account Management (BOM)
Buchanan Order Management seeks Head of Sales and Account Management to work with the Director and Head of Operations to help grow our existing services and to develop new opportunities for further expansion.
Location: Newbury, Berkshire
Salary: £35,000-£50,000 OTE
Buchanan Order Management is a consultancy within Buchanan Computing providing Traffic Order and GIS mapping services to local authorities throughout the UK. The business has expanded rapidly over the last 6 years, primarily through its exemplary record for delivering excellent quality work on time and to budget. We now seek a Head of Sales and Account Management to work with the Director and Head of Operations to help grow our existing services and to develop new opportunities for further expansion. We seek a candidate with entrepreneurial flair and the potential to develop into a business manager.
You will be a highly motivated individual with excellent experience of managing client accounts, selling services, winning contracts, and achieving high sales targets in a competitive market. You will have experience of, or an ability to quickly acquire a comprehensive understanding of, Traffic Order Legislation, Regulations, and Procedures. Experience of selling services to local authorities would be advantageous, but not essential. The company will require you to take the lead on all aspects of its sales and marketing strategy and you will be required to demonstrate your experience and capability in this regard.
Duties and Responsibilities
Developing business goals, objectives and plans for profitable growth
Managing client relationships and providing excellent service and support
Writing proposals and giving sales presentations to Officers and Executives
Working with the Head of Operations to ensure all client work is suitably resourced and projects are delivered to timescale and budget
Keeping up to date with Traffic Order Legislation, Regulations and Procedures, with the ability to draft Order documentation as required
Analyze and interpret external and internal data and write reports
Championing the customer/clients at all levels internally
Achieving sales targets, growth and profitability goals
Monitoring and researching service delivery and market changes
Assess overall company performance against objectives
Represent the company in events, conferences, etc.
Proven experience as a business manager or similar role
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
An aptitude for project management, business strategy and development
Excellent knowledge of MS Office, databases, and information systems
Good understanding of research methods and data analysis techniques
A degree in Business, Marketing, or related field. A business-related postgraduate qualification would be advantageous
Ability to work effectively, productively, and on your own initiative as part of a small management team
The ability to develop into a business unit manager with full operational and profit responsibility
Basic Salary £35,000 + performance related bonus. Target earnings £50,000+
5 weeks annual leave, contributary pension, and medical insurance.
Free parking and bicycle storage is available at the Newbury office. We are located close to the train station and bus routes.
